Welcome to "The Power of Blog."

You just attended the session on using blogs in education. Now you are considering setting up your own blogging experience. Before you do that, you may want to try blogging with others who are also considering blogging or who have used blogs in their classroom.

This blog will serve as a forum for:
  • questions,
  • discussions,
  • sharing ideas,
  • and for posting your blog's URL and purpose, so others may join you.
Also note the resources and links listed in the sidebar.

Hello, Cindy. Thank you so much for teaching me all about Blogging. I have been inspired. I can't wait to get started on a project with my students. I have all kinds of ideas. I really appreciate your ideas. I feel motivated to step out of my comfort zone and try Blogging out. Again thank you so much.

:) I did it. My layout is rough, but I feel it is a good start to get the feel of things. Please check it out and give me feedback. If you can think of anything important I should have paid close attention to in the set-up process please let me know. I am still learning. Oh, my blog address is http://spcsthirdgrade.blogspot.com ... again let me know if I have any red flags in my page. Thank you for all your help.

Bridget,
Wow, a neat blog and so fast. I am impressed. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but your blog is blocked at my school and I had to be home to access it.

Just wondering...Are you having any problems with your blog being blocked at your school?

A few suggestions...
You might want to go back into the template header section and tell more about your blog's purpose. Someone new to your blog might want more information about you and your school- unless you are not giving out info for safety reasons.

Nice to see that you have the comment moderation enabled. I did not have to use the word verification for comments when I posted to your blog. That might be one other safety feature to add to keep spamming from occurring.

Hello again, Cindy.
Finally, my blog seems completely unlocked at school. It took several attempts to unlock the page and also the pages I needed to keep our page updated to be unlocked. The kids have started getting into it slowly. I am going to try to make the changes you suggested. I also have another question. Our current topic is Weather. I would love to get some videos on my blog. I've tried using the new video feature and I can get that to work. However, when I search it automatically pulls up videos and not all are appropriate. Is there a way that I can choose videos to add to my page? Thanks for your help.
